Musings on Mindfulness

May 5, 2020

Being sheltered at home gives me the opportunity to read more and reflex on life in general.  I was reading some quotes from Lucius Seneca which inspired me to share a few quotes on mindfulness from his writing.  Seneca was a Roman philosopher.

How to heal yourself!

“Begin at once to live, and count each day as a separate life.”

Life is long if you know how to use it.

  • Hope for things in your control

  • Don’t be a slave to the opinion of others

  • Find a meaningful activity

  • Don’t take yourself too seriously

  • Consider how short life is and help others

Suffering!

The next time something horrible happens to you, tell yourself, perhaps one day this sorrow might bring delight. What positive lesson did I learn from my mistakes in the past?  Everything happens for a reason.
